- Wash the cucumber and cut it into slices ¼-inch thick.
- In a large bowl, whisk the sour cream, mayonnaise, dill, vinegar, sugar, and 1/8 teaspoon salt.
- • If you're using cucumbers and onions, add them and gently toss well to coat.
- Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
- Taste and season with additional salt and pepper and sprinkle with fresh dill if desired.

Note
- If using field cucumbers, peel them and scrape out the seeds with a spoon. Additional fresh herbs like basil, parsley, and dill can be added. Store leftover salad in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 days. Drain any juices and stir before serving.
